“Jarsheshwar” (also called as “Jersa” as per old records) is quite a historic place and as the story goes, Shri Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj, after his heroic raid on the Lal Mahal (Pune) and the dare devil attack on Shahistekhan, on the return journey to Rajgad, had chosen this place as a strategic point to take rest and stay away from the Mughals that were supposed to follow up the chase.
On the south-west side is the Khadakwasla Dam and its backwaters and on the West is the Mutha river, which when crossed you could easily reach the Torna Fort or the Rajgad Fort.
Last year, we decided to take the route via Pirangut (generally very easy and quick to pass through Hinjewadi Phase 3) and reach this place. The drive was absolutely scenic (part rain, part sunny and later a clear sky).
On the climb up the hill, you can actually stop by mid-way and on the right you would be able to see the Khadakwasla waters.
