Pusane Village & Lake Trail

It was always a wish, a dream, a destiny to return back to the villages and cherish the nature and the simple yet extremely beautiful life that they offer. Finally, it all begins now, with this first post and hundreds that would follow soon.

Ideally, the best time to visit nearby villages around Pune is during the rainy season. We knew this would be an off time, but still went ahead and decided to follow the trail to a small village with a lake around it – Pusane.

Pusane Village & Lake Trail Route

It being a Sunday morning, there wasn’t much rush on the road but as usual you would find almost a zillion speed breakers that will make getting out of the city much more painful experience.

Initially we thought of visiting a place on the south side of the lake which was much closer to the village but on reaching the inside of the village we realised it was impossible to drive through the extremely narrow street.

We continued ahead almost to the other end of the village and took a U-turn. The roads inside the village are pretty good but quite narrow – as usual and almost a standard you would see across any such village across the state.

After finding a way through very narrow road, we finally reached one particular spot on the bank of the lake. Not much was there to see except few birds and a serene surroundings.

We didn’t explore further as it seems there’s not much around too.

On our return way we decided to climb up the hill and visit the temple located there. It was quite a steep climb but a very short one so not much to sweat around.

The temple is of Khanboda (Lord Shiva) and seems the villagers are building new space around it. We spent about 15-20 mins around there before making our way back.
